Marco Leite, PhD

Marco Leite is an Assistant Professor of Structural Materials and Mechanical Design area at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and of New Product Development at ISCTE Business School (IBS), both in Lisbon, Portugal. He received his PhD in the Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing focus area of the MIT Portugal program with a dissertation entitled: “Techno-Economic Evaluation in materials selection for multiple parts under OEM-Tier relations” in 2012. Since then, his research interests focus on methodologies for product development, namely with materials and technology selection, lean new product development and prototyping. Researcher in the Materials & Manufacturing Processes Research Group at IDMEC/LAETA.
