Gracinda Sanches Fernandes is a Chemical Engineer with a PhD in Biotechnology and Biosciences, both from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, and holds a postgraduation in Clinical Trials from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (FMUL).
With more than 25 years’ experience, in multinational companies (namely Tate & Lyle-ASR Group and PepsiCo) and as General Manager at BioChromoGene (Human Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmaceutical Industry, Cosmetic Industry and Food and Beverages Industry – Portugal, Spain, Italy, France and Belgium), she has a proven track record of managing international teams (sales, supply chain, production, quality and R&D), launching new brands, products and services, planning and executing successful field force business and sales plans, managing international and passionate sales task forces, and successful implementation of customer-centric engagement strategies. She is also passionate for results and effective strategy for market-share gain, financial and commercial due diligence, driving change, innovation and revenue growth, precision medicine, clinical trials, microbiome therapies, bioinformatics, genomics in drug discovery & development, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), probiotics, prebiotics and business innovation & development (start-ups/new products & services).
