Dr. Catarina Rosado

Catarina Rosado holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Coimbra and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Technology from Cardiff University, UK. She has pursued her career at Universidade Lusófona, where she is currently an Associate Professor and leads the research domain of Formulation Strategies and Nanosolutions at CBIOS.

Her research has explored natural ingredients for pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, with a primary focus on those obtained through sustainable and upcycling strategies (for example, bacterial cellulose, biomass oil from insects, and cherry liqueur residues).

One of her main passions is promoting health literacy regarding cosmetics, helping consumers make informed decisions and providing science-based knowledge to various stakeholders (industry, doctors, regulators, estheticians, patient associations).
