Inês Isidro is, since July of 2016, a Postdoctoral Researcher in Systems Biology from iBET – Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica, where she develops work concerning the research in Systems Biology for the Animal Cell Technology Unit. Her academic background counts with a MSc in Biological Engineering, completed in 2009, from Instituto Superior Técnico and also Advanced Studies in Bioengineering Systems, completed in 2011, from MIT-Portugal Program. Her professional career started during her Master Thesis Internship in Bioinformatics from UCL, in 2009, after that, Isidro worked as a Researcher in Systems Biodynamics, in ITQB-UNL. From 2010 to 2015, gained experience as PhD Student in MIT-Portugal Program, and from 2011 to 2016, Inês Isidro co-founded and worked as researcher in MediaOmics. In this talk she’ll give an overview of the work her research team does at iBET in systems biotechnology of animal cells. Based on selected application examples Inês will show you how omics, metabolic models, statistics and machine learning can be combined in different ways to generate knowledge about the underlying biology and to foster bioprocess development.
