Carlos Quental concluded his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Lisbon in 2013. During his PhD he developed computational tools, based on multibody and finite element formulations, to study the biomechanics of the shoulder joint. From 2014 onwards, he has continued his research activity in the biomechanics field in the Institute of Mechanical Engineering. He is author of more than 10 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, 2 book chapters, and more than 20 papers in national and international conferences. In 2015 he was awarded the “Professor João Martins” Young Investigators Award by the Portuguese Society of Biomechanics.
