Workshop – Intellectual Property – A great tool to defend your rights
Intellectual Property has existed for several centuries, but a great increase in its use and consequently its relevance has occurred in the last decades.
The exploitation of IP rights is present in all areas, and this presentation will focus on Industrial Property (IP), specifically the rights related to technological innovation: patents.
It will explore how and why innovation should also be thought of on the basis of IP, and how IP tools can be put in place to support the development of any activity – whether or not it is profit oriented.
Is important to refer that a patent gives the patent proprietor the right to exclude third parties from using the protected invention but it does not automatically allow the patent proprietor to produce and sell matter that is protected by the patent.
